SECOND BATTALION

The 2nd Battalion of the F-FDTL (Battalion II) was created with the mission of complementing the national defense and security capacity, playing an important role in military operations in Timor-Leste. Located in Dili, the 2nd Battalion is a pillar of the Land Force, with units trained in combat operations, territorial defense and support in humanitarian aid missions. With a force composed of experienced and trained soldiers, the 2nd Battalion is responsible for security patrols in critical areas, peacekeeping operations and action from risk areas, always in close collaboration with the new units of the F- FDTL. This structure allows to act with flexibility and speed, in order to guarantee the integrity of the national territory in crisis situations. The 2nd Battalion also plays an important role in responding to natural disasters, where units stand out in supporting the affected population and distributing humanitarian aid. The battalion contributes to the education and training of new generations of F-FDTL soldiers, focusing on the development of leadership, discipline and operational skills. In addition to being the country's special defense force, the 2nd Battalion is also involved in international cooperation missions, participating in peace and security operations with the armed forces of other countries. Battalion II continues to be a reference unit in the F-FDTL, committed to Timor-Leste's regional security and stability.
