F-FDTL and PNTL Command to Ensure Security During Christmas and New Year

The FALINTIL-Defense Forces of Timor-Leste (F-FDTL) and the National Police of Timor-Leste (PNTL) have opened a joint operation to ensure security during the Christmas and New Year holidays throughout the territory of Timor, and the two commands will not tolerate criminals to disturb the Christmas and New Year holidays.
In his speech, the Chief of Staff of the FALINTIL-Defense Forces of Timor-Leste (F-FDTL), Brigadier General José da Costa Soares “TRIX”, said, this is not something new for us, but it is a daily work, especially for the PNTL that is already everywhere always working together and cooperating with the F-FDTL command.
This year of 2024, FALINTIL-FDTL and PNTL cooperation has successfully provided many services, and this success has been recognized by His Excellency the President of the Republic as well as by the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. This specific mission that we have been doing well for months, starting in 2024, is the following: The visit of the UN Secretary General and the visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to Timor-Leste, and today we will have another mission to ensure a good Christmas and New Year. He added that today we will execute the Government resolution recently issued to our two commands to ensure security during Christmas and New Year, so that our people in Timor-Leste celebrate this great day with kindness and stability, peace and harmony.
