The 2nd Battalion of the Timor-Leste Defense Force (F-FDTL) conducted a clean-up activity in collaboration with local communities, underscoring its commitment to environmental preservation and strengthening social bonds. The initiative, organized in urban and rural areas, brought together military personnel and civilians to collect waste, raise awareness about proper disposal, and plant seedlings. Beyond improving the quality of life for residents, the effort highlighted the importance of collaboration between military institutions and society to address shared challenges, such as pollution and ecosystem degradation. 

The event also served as an exercise in active citizenship, encouraging youth and community leaders to adopt sustainable practices. "This demonstrates that, together, we can build a cleaner and healthier future," stated a battalion representative. The activity reinforced the Armed Forces’ role as agents of social transformation, aligning with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
