FALINTIL_FDTL Finalized Matebian Exercise in Era-Ulo Ermera
The FALINTIL Command-Forças De Defesa De Timor-Leste (F-FDTL) of the Land Force Component (CFT) concluded the Matebian 24.1 exercise, which lasted for two weeks in the village of Era-Ulo, in the administrative post of Lete-Foho , in the municipality of Ermera.
This exercise began on 1 April 2024 and ended on 12 April, including activities such as filming the operations of the Component, the distribution of the KODASLALEK newsletter and the support with sports equipment to local schools, in addition to games of conviviality between the military and students, including also games with the National Police of Timor-Leste (PNTL) of the municipality of Ermera.
In the second week, on 5 April, the forces of the CFT, composed of the 1st Battalion of Fatubesi, the 2nd Battalion of Lauana and the FALINTIL Unit of Seloi, executed a march, ending in the village of Eraulo on 11 April.
After the closing ceremony, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Calisto Dos Santos "Coliati", affirmed that this exercise is an important part of bringing the military closer to the population and increase the technical and tactical capacity in the combat operations.
At the closing ceremony, specialist doctors of the Eduardo Regional Hospital Baucau (HOREX), doctors of the CFT and doctors of the Hospital Santa Bakhita de Era-ulo provided medical assistance to the community.
