The Commander-in-Chief of the National Republican Guard (GNR), Lieutenant General Rui Alberto Ribeiro Veloso, and his delegation paid a courtesy visit to the FALINTIL-FDTL Command and met with the Chief of General Staff of the FALINTIL - Timor-Leste Defense Forces (F-FDTL), Lieutenant General Falur Rate Laek, to discuss productivity and cooperation and how to move forward to better strengthen cooperation ties with the FALINTIL-FDTL command in the future.

“Today we visited the F-FDTL Command to hold a more productive meeting to discuss many aspects, especially cooperation. We talked about the past, we talked about the future, but most importantly we talked about the future, about how to strengthen the ties of cooperation that exist between the F-FDTL Institution and the GNR,” said Lieutenant General of the National Republican Guard (GNR) Alberto Ribeiro Veloso. 

He said that the courtesy to the FALINTIL Command - Timor-Leste Defence Forces (F-FDTL) is very important, because it must strengthen better cooperation with the GNR. At the same location, the Chief of the General Staff of the FALINTIL - Timor-Leste Defence Forces (F-FDTL), Lieutenant General Falur Rate Laek, reported on his visit to strengthen better cooperation with the Timor-Leste National Police (PNTL). "Their presence is crucial for our national stability, that's why they came and yesterday paid tribute to their people who died in the accident, and they also spoke today about the cooperation between the F-FDTL Command and they will support the IDN.
