Second Lieutenant Rede Was Buried In The Metinaro Democracy Garden

FALINTIL – The Timor-Leste Defence Forces lost a good member named Armelindo da Cruz (Rede), Infantry Lieutenant, from the Fatuhada General Headquarters, in Dili.
The deceased paid his last respects in the village where he worked, after the translation of the Requem Mass in the Metinaro chapel for the last funeral ceremony in the Democracy Garden.
Ensign Armelindo da Cruz is a permanent member of the F-FDTL who began recruiting in Aileu until today he has become a veteran of the F-FDTL and the dedication of our Ensign at the Comandante Nicolau Lobato Metinaro Training Center (CICNL) as a Communication and service also sees war material.
The late Colonel Armelindo da Crus “Rede” was born in Soibada on February 25, 1969.
The late Ensign, son of Mateus da Cruz (Deceased) and Mother Claudina da Costa (Deceased), the late Ensign Armelindo married his wife Edia Fernandes and had 7 children. Late transformation into FALINTIL F-FDTL on 2 February 2001, the deceased posted to the 1st Battalion in C company as a private, on 23 July 2003, the deceased was redeployed to FCU Metinaro on 13 December 2003 promoted to Furiel on 17 December 2005 and the deceased was redeployed to the Communications Directorate headquarters on 23 July 2007, promoted to second sergeant, on 11 December 2016, the deceased was promoted to first sergeant, on 13 April 2023, the deceased was redeployed to the Armagen section Headquarters Support Unit on 13 April 2024 and promoted to Ensign as Head of Armagen section. The late Ensign Armelindo dedicated himself to the F-FDTL Institution for 23 years and the deceased did many things such as military service and participated in various training and courses.
Thus, on December 23, 2024, the late Rede passed away at the Guido Valadares National Hospital in Dili.

In an interview, the Chief of Operations of the FALINTIL-Timor-Leste Defence Force (F-FDTL), Colonel João da Costa Esteves, said that the F-FDTL Headquarters conducted this forced march exercise from Nasuta to Tasi Tolu.
“Today we conducted a forced march from Nasuta to the headquarters as a program that is part of the annual matrix operational training. said the Chief of Operations of FALINTIL-East Timor Defense Forces (F-FDTL), Colonel João da Costa Esteves.
“This Forced March is not carried out by the Headquarters, but each Component and Unit has its own program including other exercises that we started in January until the end of this year.
The march aims to psychologically test all the Armed Forces and individually and also to look at the esprit de corps and the spirit of camaraderie of all the military personnel who march and do other exercises.
